Well, we’re wrapped up with Daniel 1-6, and on Sunday, we heard from Tyler Eason in Matthew 11:25-30. Chapters 1-6 of Daniel were long and really intense, so this week, we’ll take a deep breath. Next week, we return to the Gospel of Mark!

That said, this week’s questions will be less passage-specific and more open-ended. We’ve done this a few times now, and I think it’s a great exercise in reading Scripture and applying it to our walks with Jesus. All of Scripture is equally important to us as followers of Jesus (2 Tim. 3:16-17), so studying God’s Word in this way is a great workout for our expositional muscles! We want our groups to be a balance between a “Bible study” (where we only focus on Scripture) and a “life group” (where we only focus on growing community). Hopefully, our groups find a balance between loving God’s Word and loving one another well. With that said, below are our questions for the week!

Discussion Questions

  • What stood out to you from the passage?

  • Does anything in this passage remind you of another part of Scripture?

  • Do you have any questions?

  • What does this passage tell us about God?

  • What does this passage tell us about ourselves?

  • How can this passage help you see your need for God?

  • How do you think this passage is meant to affect your life?

  • What does it mean for Jesus to give us rest?

  • What does Jesus mean when he says, “my yoke is easy and my burden is light”?

  • What are some yokes of the world that are heavy and burdensome?
