Tamarisk

At King’s Table, we are deeply committed to evangelism, discipleship, and caring for the most vulnerable. We seek to do this by providing support to individuals and families before, during and after foster care and adoption. Tamarisk is a nonprofit we partner with that cares for those who have aged out of foster care. Here’s their most recent update:

We have some really exciting news to share with you!

For the past couple of years, we’ve dreamed about creating not just a weekly gathering, but a physical place of refuge, belonging, and practical support for young adults who are aging out of foster care. Specifically, we've prayed for a house located centrally, in downtown Raleigh.

And we are now beginning to see God in His abundance bring this dream and vision into fruition!

We have a house identified for this purpose, and we are eagerly awaiting the next steps that will allow us to move in and begin making it a home for our community.

This space will give our young adults a consistent place to gather, build relationships, receive practical support, celebrate milestones, and simply have a place where they know they belong and will be cared for.

An Opportunity To Serve And Build

One of the first steps toward making this home possible is raising the funds to sustain it. And we have a really fun opportunity to do that while serving a foster family in our community!

On November 7, Tamarisk is partnering with Both Hands for both a day of service and a fundraising project.

Both Hands brings people together to serve a foster family through a home project while raising support for a local nonprofit. So while our team will spend the day serving this family, we’ll also be inviting our community to help support the work of Tamarisk.

Meet Randa and her two boys - the family we’ll be serving!

Randa is a single foster and adoptive mom in Knightdale who has spent years creating a safe and loving home for children who have come from hard places. She has welcomed more than 30 children into her home over the years, and has adopted two. We are honored to have the opportunity to serve her family in a tangible way.

Our Fundraising Goal: $12,000

We're hoping to raise $12,000 through this project, which will cover one full year of rent for the house. And we have an incredible head start: a $3,000 matching grant has already been committed! So the first $3,000 given will be matched dollar-for-dollar.

We'd love to have you be part of it!

SPONSOR OUR SERVICE DAY → Help us serve Randa and her family while helping us reach our financial goal.

Join us. Come spend the day serving alongside us on November 7. Starting at 11am, we will be in Knightdale planting flowers in Randa's front yard, renovating her coat closet, pressure washing her fence, and more. We'd love to spend the day working alongside you and serving Randa's family together.

If you'd like to join us in person on November 7 to volunteer, reach out to lauren@tamarisk.community.

Pass it along. Share our fundraising page with someone who might want to be part of it.

We’re so excited about this next chapter for Tamarisk. What began as a weekly gathering is growing into a physical place where young adults can find refuge, belonging, and practical support as they navigate life after foster care.

Thank you for believing in our mission, praying for this vision, and helping us build toward it. We’re so grateful to have you with us.

With gratitude,
Lauren Clark
