At King’s Table Church, we believe God calls each of us to care for vulnerable families and individuals. One way we live this out is by supporting foster and adoptive families. No matter where you are in life, there’s a meaningful way for you to join in and make a difference.
We believe prayer is our most powerful way to make a difference. We are trusting God to bring more children out of foster care by raising up couples to foster and adopt. Here are three ways you can join us in prayer:
Pray for children in foster care – that they would experience safety, love, and hope in their lives, and that they would find healing physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
Pray for foster and adoptive families – for strength, wisdom, and encouragement as they care for these children.
Pray for God to raise up more families – that He would call couples to foster and adopt, opening their hearts and homes to children in need.
PRAY
Adoption can be a beautiful, life-changing journey, but it often comes with a cost of $40,000 to $45,000. At King’s Table, our Adoption Fund exists to directly support families answering God’s call to adopt. If you feel led to partner with us to provide a forever home for children in need, you can give by clicking here.
GIVE
Many families at King’s Table are on the incredible journey of fostering and adopting. While this season is full of joy and excitement, it can also be busy and challenging. In fact, half of foster parents step away after their first year without support. You can make a real difference by coming alongside these families by serving, encouraging, and walking with them in this journey.
SERVE
Meals:
Our hope as a church is to wrap around our foster and adoptive families and support them in tangible ways as they pursue obedience in this hard calling. One way we can do this is by providing meals. Our hope is to provide one free meal per month, per family.
Respite:
Another way we can support and encourage our families is by providing respite through babysitting! This looks like caring for their child(ren) while the parents take a morning, afternoon or night off. In this volunteer role, you provide much needed rest for the parents and simultaneously begin to build a relationship with the children.
Fostering:
The purpose of foster care is to provide a safe and stable environment for children while their biological families receive the support they need to work towards reunification. When reunification is not possible, children can find a permanent, loving home through adoption. We have the privilege of partnering with Agape to help families explore foster care.
Adoption:
There are many wonderful adoption agencies that guide families through the adoption journey. At King’s Table, we partner with LifeLine to support and encourage families as they pursue adoption.
Our prayer is for two families a year to begin the journey of fostering or adopting. If you feel God calling you to step into this life-changing work, we would love to walk alongside you.
