Gospel Hope Church
At King’s Table we are grateful to partner with ministries and churches who are deeply committed to making the gospel known alongside us. Each month, we want to share with you how God is at work through our partners and how we can pray alongside of them. This month we are asking you to pray for one of our church planting partners, Gospel Hope Church in Greenville, NC:
This last season at Gospel Hope has been a blessing. We’ve been able to launch several Discipleship Groups that meet all over Greenville for the purpose of spurring one another on in our walk with Christ. We’ve also had increased involvement in our weekly Home Group, which is a sweet time of fellowship and prayer.
The Lord has also opened up more doors for evangelism and community engagement. Each week, we partner with a mobile farmers market that provides food at little to no cost to residents in our neighborhood. We show up with water, hot drinks, and hands ready to help where we can. We pray and the share the gospel weekly through this and are seeing more and more people step through our doors from this.
I’ll highlight one person from that ministry, named Chris. When we met he was unemployed and living in an infamous drug house down the street. As we got to know him and began to understand his needs, we were able to buy him some new clothes for job interviews. He ended up moving out of that house and into a homeless shelter (which is actually better for him right now) and begins his new job this week. He’s now involved in our discipleship groups and with several members at Gospel Hope, and has even spoken to us about baptism. I highlight this to emphasize that we’re most thankful for the deep relationships we’re able to form through these regular acts of love and service.
We’re also seeing more and more college students in our midst. Though we’re still smaller (around 50 on Sundays), about 1/3 of our attenders are students. Not only that, but we have a beautiful mix of international folks as well. One man, is an Iranian Muslim we met at Panera. Despite some big differences, he’s been attending regularly for months leading to many gospel conversations outside church. When we began to translate our sermon notes into Farsi, we saw an even bigger spike in his understanding. Even though he has yet to trust in Jesus, we’re thankful he’s experiencing Jesus’ love each week through his people and continue to pray for his conversion.
There’s more I could share, but that’s a taste of what the Lord is doing. He’s growing us slowly numerically but the deep relational growth has been humbling. We’re so thankful for your support, prayers, and partnership in the gospel. It’s a reminder to me that many hands and hearts go into gospel ministry. Though you don’t know all our people, they are benefiting from your faithfulness and generosity. Thank you and may the Lord continue to bless and keep you all!
